Be Yourself
Have you ever looked at someone else's life and thought "I wish I was like them". I know I have. When you compare yourself to other people, you make yourself seem smaller, less interesting and not as important. Focus on your own qualities and the values you bring to the table. It's awesome to look up to others for inspiration but don't forget who you are and how incredible you are. There is noone else like you. Next time you negatively compare yourself to others think how special your life is and the amazing things you can also accomplish.

It's OK to Quit
In the past year, so many more people have ben quitting their jobs and for good reason. Most everyone has been underpaid and overworked with no work/life balance. You are lucky if you have a job that treats your right and pays you what you are worth. Those types of jobs are very few and far between.

Diet? How About No
Are you starting the new year on a diet? Because that was the plan for me. "This is the year I get back into shape" is what I told myself. "I will start on January 1st." Then I realized January 1st was a Sunday so the "getting back into shape" diet got postponed until Monday. If it's not a Monday I'm not starting something new, am I right? Are you the type of person who has to start something at the beginning of the week? Oh, it's a Thursday? I guess I will have to wait 'till Monday!
I've always been a procrastinator, so that definitely does not help the matter. I always work best under pressure, when I know that something is due in less than 24 hrs, that is when my best work happens. I know I am not alone in this haha.
But back to the "diet". This is defintiely the year I do want to get back into shape and into a healthier lifestyle. The thing is, I do not want to diet. I want to change my eating habits but still be able to eat things I want to eat, just better versions of the things I like, made out of better ingredients. I also want to cook more at home rather than eating out.

Goodbye Christmas, For Now
When do you take down your Christmas Decorations? Do you wait until the new year or do you do it right after Christmas? I usually like to ring in the new year with my decorations still up. Still feels like a holiday this way:) Then within the next few days, after January 1st, I start slowly taking them down. Most of the time, the first weekend after NYE is when they ALL fianlly come down.
Needless to say, they are still up as of right now because today was a busy day of getting everything back in order for Adelore Creations (my subscription box business). We have boxes going out in the next week and a half and there is a lot of work to be done for that still.
Taking down the Christmas decorations is such a sad task. The house feels so much more empty afterwards! At least for me that's how it is. I know for some people, they cannot wait 'till the decorations come down!
I must admit that I do love a more clutter free space after everyhting has been put up. Even though the Christmas Cheer goes away, put up neatly for the next time it gets to come out and bring more joy. I know, I am a Christmas fanatic to say the least.
So tell me, are you someone who puts away their decorations as soon as Christmas is over or do you wait a little longer, longing for the Christmas past?

2023, A new Beginning
We made it to the New Year! It’s a fresh new beginning… then why does it feel exactly the same?
If you didn’t have any party plans last night then you probably spent it in your home doing normal things, as I did.
I had the TV on, watched a couple of shows, had a couple of drinks with my boyfriend and made some food. Then in the middle of Wednesday, episode 3, the clocked turned to midnight and the New Year was upon us.
We paused the show, wished each other a happy new year, watched some fireworks that were being launched outside our home and then went back to watching the show!
It felt exactly the same but at the same time it felt like a reset button was pressed.

The Countdown to 2023: Tidy Space, Tidy Mind
I don't know about you but any time my work space or my home space is cluttered, messy or dirty, I cannot focus on anything else. It is always on my mind. "I need to do laundry, I need to clean the kitchen, I need to tidy my room, I have to declutter the closet".

The Countdown to 2023: Love Yourself
People love to judge. Even you. Everyone has their own thoughts and opinions about others and other things. Not everyone says them out loud but they do think them. What I have learned in these 33 years on this planet is that you have to love yourself in every stage of your life, despite what others think of you. You might not be happy all the time with your looks, your weight, your surroundings and the way your life is going but always love yourself.
